The month of October 2014 saw a big jump in awesome apps for Android. From new and improved Maps Apps to micro-investing change, some pretty cool new toys hit the Play store.
Check some of them out below.
Acorn
This one really piqued my interest. I’m a play it financially safe kind of guy. I love the idea of investing, but can’t stand the idea of playing around with and losing large sums of cash.
That’s where Acorn comes in to play.
You set it up so that it connects with your credit or debit card. Then, after you make a purchase, it’ll round up the change to the nearest dollar and invest it for you. Nothing huge upfront, but over time?
Potentially big strides. Check it out here >>
Samba
Love video? Love Snapchat?
Download Samba and shoot 15-second video messages and responses back and forth to each other. I played around with this one when it launched on iOS, now it’s here for you Androiders.
Offtime
This one looks super cool.
These days, most of us have a huge issue with staying productive as we’re constantly being interrupted and pinged with alerts and notifications, phone calls, and texts.
Offtime allows you to sort of selectively go off the grid. Meaning, you can still receive calls from your spouse or friends or whomever. But, the rest of the noise?
You can totally shut it off. Not just shut if off either, you can set up rule sets to more complex scenarios like to allow the call if someone is repeatedly calling (e.g. in case of emergency).
